Knitting

The first step in the production process is knitting. We use 34 SHIMA SEIKI knitting machines, each of which is specialized in producing garments of a certain gauge. These machines can be further categorized into circular machines, which create seamless full garments, and flat machines, which produced panels/components that will be then sewn together. The required time varies depending on the item's complexity and gauge, but on average ranges from 40 to 110 minutes.

Linking

Linking is the epitome of craftsmanship and tradition. This essential step in the producing cycle requires great experience and skill, as each knit panel is carefully assembled on the machine, accurately stitched together, and meticulously finished by hand. Each linking machine is tailored to a specific gauge, with increasing complexity for finer gauges. On average, this phase requires from 20 to 60 minutes to be completed.

Fulling and Drying

The fulling process is an essential step in the production of cashmere and cashmere blend knitwear. This process aims to bring out the cashmere’s softness, stabilizing its dimensions to prevent shrinkage during subsequent washes. This procedure requires meticulous care, as excessive or incorrect treatment can damage the product and compromise its quality. The garment is then dried using profesisonal dryers, bringing it to a specific level of humidity.

Finishing

During this stage, the garment takes shape and is finalized with the addition of accessories. Extreme care is taken in the application of zippers and/or buttons, followed by meticulous hand finishing with needle and thread. The garment is then completed with a MaisonCashmere label and care instructions.

Ironing

This stage concludes the production process. Carried out by skilled personnel, this phase is an essential step during which each garment is pressed and measured, ensuring it matches the technical specifications displayed on the screen. A manual procedure, aimed at enhancing the garment's soft feel.
